Und: A Short Introduction

Und is a very different land from Graton. Though physically the closest to Graton, it has every desire to be the most distant. To start, nature is very important to Und, and they have a vast range of 'protected' lands dedicated to preserving nature. They prefer simple roads, open spaces, and smaller buildings. The farms they have are honest, hard work, and tend to taste far better then the foods grown in Graton. (Though, Graton has a much wider variety of food.) The government works hard for the people, who in turn work hard for the government, as they are 'one and the same.' Here, conflict is resolved man-to-man, and ranged weapons are forbidden in combat. Though, for hunting and sport they are allowed. Crimes are taken very seriously, and almost always involve the criminal's family when determining punishment. It can be said that Und lives a simple life, but they too know the complexities of the world.

Household computers may be uncommon, however (like Graton) communication devices are not. The government supplies every citizen their own personal comm, and visitors to the land are lent comms as well. Outside of Graton, they have positive relations with every known country and land, and they work hard to keep themselves out of war. Surprisingly, armor in Graton might be the most advanced of anywhere, and appear to apply to all their work. Their homes are very resistant to many natural disasters, and comm systems are very difficult to break. People always enjoy feeling secure, and it is hard to break that feeling in Und.

If Und has a 'downside' to their way of life, it is privacy. Though no-one is strictly watched, the comm systems are also monitoring equipment. Should you start doing things unexpectedly, or wander away from you comm, people are asked to quickly find you and inform the government of your actions. Psychology is actually an important requirement to working as a government official.

Personal weapons are allowed to be carried, however people who 'may' or have abused the privileged have their weapons taken from them. If it is a severe case, the weapons are taken from everyone around the 'troubled' individual. The government encourages it's citizens to carry around arms, however, given how often Graton 'invasion' forces are reported (not found) in the area. Armored patrols are formed to track down any such reports.
